Bedouin folklore is a very elegant dance! It is danced primarily on high-toe and high upraised arms. Lots of hip twists and interesting step combinations. The dance can be danced both solo and in group formations. A dance prop often used is a water jar on the head or shoulder.
The workshop includes dance technique, step combinations, dance combinations for both solo and group dance, dance with water jar, music and rhythm understanding and a short lecture on the background, history and costumes – and finally a choreography.
To the workshop participants should preferably wear training pants and bring either a “jug” / clay jar or a prop that can be used as a jar. Also bling several long scarf or a tribal belt with long tassels to wear around the hips.
Dud Muurmand has danced Tunisian Beduin Folkore for 15 years and has studied the style with Leila Haddad and Wendy Buenaventura.

Meget elegant beduinfolklore! Den danses primært på høy tå og med høyt løftede armer. Masse hoftetwist og annerledes trinnkombinasjoner. Dansen kan både danses solo og i gruppe med formasjoner. En fast danserekvisitt er vannkrukken som man danser med på hodet eller skulderen.
Workshoppen omfatter danseteknikk, trinnkombinasjoner, dansekombinasjoner til både solo og gruppedans, dans med vannkrukke, musikk/rytmeforståelse og et kort foredrag om bakgrunn, historie og kostymer – og til slutt en koreografi.
Til workshoppen skal kursdeltakerne helst ha på treningsbukser og ta med enten en “jug”/leirkrukke til dans eller en lignende gjenstand som kan brukes som vannkrukke. Ta med flere lange skjerf eller belte med lange tribalkdusker til å binde om hoftene.
Dud Muurmand har danset Tunisisk beduinfolkore i 15 år, og har studert stilen hos Leila Haddad og Wendy Buenaventura.
